About this calculator

Enter the prescription and, if you have it, the axial length from two visits to see how much nearsightedness and eye length changed, and the yearly rate.

What you need

How it is calculated

Spherical equivalent = sphere + cylinder ÷ 2. Change = later − earlier, for spherical equivalent (D) and axial length (mm). Yearly rate = change ÷ (days ÷ 365.25), shown only for intervals of at least 180 days.

What the result can and cannot tell you

This shows change that has already happened; it does not predict a future prescription. Results with and without dilating drops can differ, especially in children. Yearly rates are shown only for visits at least 180 days apart. Your eye doctor considers age, eye growth and any myopia treatment together.
