The condition
Retinal vein occlusion - central (CRVO) or branch (BRVO) - is often called an 'eye stroke.' A blocked vein causes hemorrhage and swelling in the retina, blurring or dimming vision, sometimes suddenly. It is strongly linked to blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and glaucoma - which makes it both an eye event and a health signal.

Will my vision recover after an RVO?
Many people improve substantially with anti-VEGF treatment, especially in BRVO - but outcomes vary with how much the macula was affected and how quickly treatment began. Sticking with the injection plan your specialist sets gives the best odds.
Can NRT replace my injections?
No. Anti-VEGF injections are the proven treatment for RVO-related swelling, and NRT never substitutes for them. Injection decisions belong to your retina specialist; NRT works on the systemic and supportive side in parallel.
How is NRT different from conventional treatment?
Specialist care is essential for diagnosis, retinal monitoring, genetic counseling and access to legitimate clinical trials. NRT is an adjunctive program that considers nutrition safety, daily visual function and whole-person factors alongside that care—it does not replace it.
Can NRT cure an RVO?
No. The occlusion itself cannot be dissolved by supportive care, and NRT makes no such claim. It is adjunctive, whole-person support with benefit judged against your specialist's imaging and your vascular health markers.
Why did this happen - and could it happen again?
RVO risk rises with hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, glaucoma and, in younger patients, clotting disorders. The fellow eye carries real risk, which is why a proper systemic work-up with your physicians is not optional - it is the heart of prevention.
